Confession time, #DCBeings edition: though we have a Facebook page and a Twitter handle, we have a soft spot for our favorite platform, Instagram. You can turn your feed into a sex positivity party (which, spoiler alert, we have!). That’s why we wanted to share our five favorite sex positive Instagram accounts today!

Pyramid Seven Underwear has a simple mission: high-quality underwear for everybody and EVERY body. On their feed, you’ll see bodies of all shapes, sizes, and gender identities. Their mission has always been to make everyone feel that they’re a part of something bigger and that they don’t have to struggle with things like body and gender dysphoria alone. The coolest part? They have boxers designed for periods!

Continuing the “period” theme, we have to give some serious love to Sustain! They are an organic, sustainable brand that sells body-friendly tampons, organic condoms, and more. What we love about their feed is that it’s a mixture of sex positive content and education about how to safely use their products.

If you follow us on Instagram (@dcbeings, wassup?), then you’ve probably seen a lot of regrams from Refinery29. That’s because we love them. On its website, Refinery29 describes itself as “…a modern woman’s destination for how to live a stylish, well-rounded life”. Well, they certainly do more than that! Their feed has great inspirational quotes, fun celebrity highlights, and great fashion with an overall sex positive vibe to it!

What can we say about this incredible IG? Sex Positive Families has a really great and effective goal: to raise sexually healthy children one talk at a time. This feed is a great addition if you’re expecting, current, or just know a parent who is worried that they’ll choke on the birds and the bees. They discuss ways to bring up difficult topics while adding in fun quotes and positive affirmations! The admins are taking a break from social media, but they have over 800 posts for you to go through.

We love AltaPride! Honestly, we could gush about them for hours, take a quick snack break, and then gush about them some more! Their bio sums it up pretty perfectly: “[we are]…a culturally-inclusive, sex-positive, and empowering safe space supporting the LGBTQ community through diverse, inspiring & health-centric messaging.” They do a great job of highlighting so many bodies and voices and identities, especially Black gay and bi men.
