DC! We called on you and you showed up.
In case you somehow missed the hundred messages we shared and subsequent pictures on social, we hosted a sex positive party this past Thursday! DC residents joined us at Ivy City Smokehouse to celebrate all things related to sexual health and sex positivity.
We’re not trying to make anyone who didn’t come jealous, per say, but let’s go over exactly what they missed…
Those who reserved tickets ahead of time received their first raffle and drink tickets of the night – raffle prizes included gift cards to local adult boutiques Lotus Blooms and Hart’s Desires.
While other attendees mingled, a few select participants were chosen to participate in Sexual Trivia, a hilarious and informative round of sex-based facts hosted by Drag Queen Alicia Kelly (pro-tip for next year: wait until she’s done asking the question before buzzing in!)
When folks wanted to step inside from the heat, their first stop was the DC Beings table (related: have you followed us on Twitter and Instagram?) Folks loved our scavenger hunt, which allowed them to secure up to 10 additional raffle entries.
Our emcee extraordinaire, WPGC’s Joe Clair! Joe brought humor and fun to the stage and helped set the mood for the night.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper DC Beings event if we didn’t connect residents with DC-based sexual health resources:
Planned Parenthood of Metro DC has been providing high-quality, affordable healthcare to individuals in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area for 80 years.
Sex Is… an initiative from DC Health to encourage a sex positive narrative among youth & between youth & adults around sexuality & sexual health.
Did someone say free condoms? Folks were able to use our condom order form to get a discreet pack of condoms delivered to their home (Get this: over 300 condoms were ordered just that night!)
